Variation on tarte tatin?

I would like to know if you think that making a tarte tatin using croissants as the crust would work (obviously not cooking them for as long as pastry would be wise). I would like to try this as a breakfast party idea (so they would be served like a messy danish).Variation on tarte tatin?
